The long wait is over!
Taken during the pay-out of the “Social Pension” program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development that provides monthly stipend to indigent senior citizens as mandated by Republic Act 9994 or the expanded Senior Citizen’s Act.
The LCE spearheaded the pay-out assisted by the MSWDO and the Treasury Office.
Christmas is a time to Party Party!
Christmas is the season of giving, true to this, the LGU has given away gifts in the form of goods to all the Day Care Children and differently abled persons of Pura during their Christmas Party held on Dec. 11 and 15, respectively.
Moreover, the Senior Citizens of Pura were all fantastic in their presentations during their Christmas Party last December 12 at the Covered Court. The LCE, who is a senior citizen too, in cooperation with the members of the SB distributed the gifts after the entertainment numbers performed by the Lolo’s and Lola’s. Raffle prizes were courtesy of Vice-Governor Kit Cojuangco and other government officials.

The 2nd LGU First Aid Olympics was held on December 19, 2014 at the san Sebastian Covered Court. Eight (8) LGU’s who have undergone First Aid and BLS-CPR Training conducted by the Red Cross Tarlac Chapter participated in this friendly competition.
Armed with enthusiasm, positivity and teamwork, the LGU First Aid Team, though insufficient with practice and sophisticated first aid equipments, whole-heartedly executed the problems given by the Red Cross Staff who are in-charge in the competition.
With vision loss or impairment a common problem among senior citizens, Vice Governor Kit Cojuangco and Senior Board Member Cristy Angeles deemed it timely to hold the activity which is a kick-off program of all gift giving activities for the month of December.
Senior Citizens from the 16 barangays availed themselves of free eye check-up and received complete eyeglasses.
Said undertaking commenced with the presence of VG Kit Cojuangco and BM Cristy Angeles with our LCE and officials from the barangays.
As part of the LGU’s initiative to provide Livelihood opportunities to the residents, 18 Male Puranians were trained in the Shielded Metal Arc Welding offered by the LGU in cooperation with theTarlacPlacement and Networking Program (TPNP) that run thru Dec. 1-12, 2014 at the Pura Training Center. Mrs. Susan Sibilia, a puranian citizen who is based in Los Angeles California sponsored the two-week food for the participants.
The MSWDO sponsored Municipal Children’s Congress was held on October 14, 2014 at the Municipal Covered Court. Day Care Children coming from the 17 Day Care Centers competed in Solo Singing, Poem recital, Copy and Color (Drawing) and Folk Dance.
As part of the LGU’s continuing commitment to help in nation building by providing home to the homeless, two more housing units at the GawadKalinga St. Isidore Village in Estipona, were awarded to beneficiaries identified by the DSWD from the marginalized sector.
